Description
English: Copper alloy brooch fragment, Rosette type. Upper half only, missing pin; some areas very corroded. The 8-turn spring is held in a semi-cylindrical case with enclosed ends, now very abraded. The upper bow is flat backed and has a centre angle and is strongly arched in profile. It joins an incomplete circular plate with concave back and incised concentric lines on the front. The top of the plate is straight and joins the underneath of the spring case. Surviving length 20mm, width 15mm. Similar to an unpublished eg from Hitcham, Suffolk (HTC 002 47).
